A bit of show and tell

We are a busy group and knit a lot. Talk a lot too!! A very valuable lesson we’ve learned, through painful experience, is not to bring anything complicated to a meeting, That’s just asking for mistakes to be made; any progress inevitably has to be ripped back when home again. The result is that unless someone brings a finished item to a meeting we rarely see what our clever knitters have achieved in full and completed glory.

Here are some recent projects:

Liz crocheted this beautiful granny square blanket and won a prize in the Cheshire Show WI crafts competition for her beautiful work.

Perveen likes her grand-daughters to sit comfortably and knits cushions for them using a combination of yarns; usually one plain colour and one variegated. Lovely effect!

Lesley keeps herself busy knitting for fundraisers and for her grandson. He’ll look gorgeous in this super hat when it gets colder. The pattern is Sirdar Snuggly 1776.

Gill has been knitting a baby shawl the last few weeks and we’ve been itching to see it finished and blocked. Well worth the wait, don’t you think?

  1. Love seeing finished projects… as you say, we don’t often get a good enough glimpse into people’s true skills!
