More show and tell with which to close 2023

It’s been a productive year for us. We’ve had a huge number of projects on the needles and hooks – here are a few more:

Sheila, with some of the hats she’s knitted during the year. She says she’s knitted 32 hats but I think it’s way more than that.

We are always happy to welcome new members and visitors and just before Christmas, we had an unexpected visitor who came with Sheila:

He was very well behaved, happy to perch on the table, easy to keep entertained but not very talkative as we couldn’t even get his name out of him. I think he looks like a Marlon.

Karen finished her magnum opus and started on another one using the same pattern. A great result for a beginner!

She is finding it easier the second time around but not as challenging.

I too enjoy challenges, especially when I have an oddment of unusual yarn that I don’t know what to do with. I had a small amount of sparkly yarn and after much mulling, I decided to make a glasses case. I even had some fabric remnants at home that I could use for the lining. There is some (yarn and fabric!) left but I haven’t thought of what to make with them just yet.

Our group has supported the Knit for Peace charity over the years and we sent them some scarves and lap blankets.

All in all it’s been a pretty busy year. All that remains is to say a big thank you to the ladies in our group for coming to the park and supporting our knitting group and the Friends of the Park.

And as 2023 comes to an end, I wish everyone everywhere a happy, healthy and most of all, peaceful 2024.
