July – no longer virtual!

What joy! We were able to meet face to face for the first time since March 2020. The beautiful weather meant that outdoor meetings were an absolute delight. Sitting in our lovely park, knitting, chatting, listening to the birds, engaging with passers-by, watching children at play…….fabulous!

The weather was great on the 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd of July. The clouds put in an unwelcome appearance on the 30th and the temperature dropped to a chilly 18 degrees but we weren’t put off and still managed to enjoy ourselves. (We were still waiting for the OK to use the pavilion so had to stay outdoors.) Most restrictions were lifted on the 19th of July: rule of six indoors gone; social distancing scrapped except for a few exceptions; requirement to wear face masks scrapped in most circumstances. No more rules; instead, it’s up to individuals to do what they think is best.

Some of us are knitting doll’s blankets for nurseries, which is a great way of using up those odds and ends of yarn.

Sheila’s, Perveen’s and Krysia’s

We had 16 blankets ready for the nurseries when this little scamp decided that he wanted to keep them for himself:

“Mine, all mine” sighed the rabbit as he snuggled deep into the squishy pile of blankets……..

There was a bit of a tussle with much tugging, shouting and yelling but I emerged victorious with dignity intact – wouldn’t do to lose to a rabbit!
